Gentle Transition

Respectfully Preparing a Loved One's Home

When the time comes to clear a loved one's home, Everlasting is here to help. Our Gentle Transition service provides compassionate oversight from beginning to end, ensuring the home is respectfully emptied, useful belongings are donated whenever possible, and the property is ready for its next chapter.

What is Gentle Transition?

A Simple, Compassionate Home Transition

Losing a loved one is already difficult. Clearing a home or apartment should not make it harder.

Whether you live far away or simply feel overwhelmed, Everlasting provides a trusted representative to guide the process from beginning to end.

Our focus is not just emptying a home. It is making sure the transition is handled with care, dignity, and respect.

Your dedicated Everlasting Representative remains involved throughout the process, helping identify meaningful belongings, organizing items for family, coordinating donations, and arranging responsible removal and disposal based on your wishes.

We help protect what matters most — while bringing peace of mind when you cannot be there yourself.

A Note About Personal Belongings

You decide what matters. We follow your instructions.

Everlasting does not appraise or determine the monetary or sentimental value of personal property. Families are encouraged to identify known valuables, jewelry, cash, important documents, collectibles, and irreplaceable belongings before services begin whenever possible.

Everlasting does not transport family-designated personal belongings to another residence or personal storage location. Items designated to remain with the family are separated and left in the agreed-upon location for retrieval.

How It Works

Our Simple Process

1. Consultation

We learn about your family's needs, the property, and your instructions for belongings you wish to keep, donate, or have removed.

2. Family-Directed Transition Plan

Together, we create a clear plan identifying which belongings or categories of items should remain with the family, be donated, or be responsibly removed.

3. On-Site Oversight

Your dedicated Everlasting Representative remains involved throughout the transition and helps ensure your family's instructions are followed.

Items designated for the family are carefully separated and placed in an agreed-upon area of the residence for retrieval.

If we encounter an item that appears personal or potentially important and we do not have clear instructions, we will set it aside for family review whenever reasonably possible.

4. Donation & Responsible Removal

Items approved for donation are coordinated for pickup or transportation through charitable organizations or appropriate third-party providers.

Remaining contents approved for removal are handled by appropriate third-party removal, recycling, or disposal providers.

5. Final Walkthrough

Once the transition is complete, we conduct a final walkthrough, take completion photos, and provide confirmation that the agreed-upon services have been completed.
